The LiquaGen KDF 55 MediaGuard is an advanced add-on filter designed to give your whole house water softener or filtration system an extra layer of protection. By reducing chlorine exposure, KDF 55 also extends the life of your resin—lasting 15–20 years in chlorine-free water compared to only 7–10 years with chlorine present.

How It Works

The MediaGuard installs easily, twist-locking between the control valve and the tank. Once in place, water flows through four KDF media chambers, where it is swirled and mixed to maximize contact time.

Pretreatment Stage: Removes chlorine, heavy metals, and microbial contaminants before water reaches the resin.

Softening Stage: Cleaner water passes through the resin for hardness removal.

Backwash Cycle: Flow reverses, lifting the resin bed and flushing out sediment while the KDF media releases oxidized contaminants, restoring efficiency.
